If you’re an employer – you know that evaluating your employees performance is critical to their and to your success – but too often this process doesn’t get done or it doesn’t get done effectively.
To get the most out of this process try following the SMART Evaluation Plan
S-M-A-R-T
S – Be SPECIFIC
Tell your employees exactly what you want them to do and be clear about your expectations. Offer specific suggestions for improvement where needed.
M - MEASURABLE
Give your employees measurable goals and develop a timeline for achieving those goals.
A - ACCOUNTABLE
Build accountability into your employee’s job to keep you from having to micro-manage but to be kept informed as necessary.
R - REALISTIC
Set realistic and achievable goals for your employees while still encouraging them to grow beyond their current knowledge and skill set.
T - TIMELY
Discuss any problems with your employees immediately. Same goes for praising a job well done - as positive reinforcement is a great motivator!
Follow the SMART Evaluation plan to keep you and your employees on track and happy to be working for you!
